The speaker
Dr. Mark Knauer (Creator of the sow body condition caliper)
PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from North Carolina State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and a Master of Science in Animal Breeding from Iowa State University. Currently a swine extension specialist at North Carolina State University, after serving as Director of Animal Science at the National Pork Board and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Pig Genetics (Netherlands). Specializes in genetics and swine production management, and developed the sow body condition caliper.
